Izzy Sanchez and Grace Fedler chat at their desk in Tara Mosley’s fifth-grade class at Tioga Central Elementary school while cutting out newspaper clippings.
For the past seven Wednesdays, students of Mosley’s class have been reading a serialized story about Kali, a polar bear orphaned in Alaska in 2013 when his mother was killed by hunters.
Fedler says the story of Kali is her favorite part of getting the newspaper each week.
“I just like learning about polar bears,” she says.
