Neighbors say the traffic situation around Central Elementary School is primed for tragedy.
Richard Carr, a resident of Benson Street on Monday told the Tioga City Commission the situation is “dangerous and chaotic,” with people stopping on either side of the street to drop students off, or even stopping in the middle of the street.
Commissioners expressed interest in finding a solution, but tabled action pending more study of the issue.
At some times, said Carr, traffic is four deep across Benson, with children darting between cars. He worries someone is going to get hurt.
