For the first time in the history of the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA), the national champion hails from North Dakota, specifically Ray.
“We did not anticipate racing like that and pushing it that hard,” said champion Jason Wolla. “We had success early in the year and we carried through with it.”
Wolla competed in more than 70 races before claiming this year’s IMCA title.
The team spent nearly every weekend on the road traveling between local races in Minot, Mandan, Williston and Dickinson.
