Dr. Mary Aaland has taught people from age 6 to 88 how to apply tourniquets and pack wounds through the “Stop the Bleed” program.
Soon, Tioga area residents can receive the same training.
Aaland, a Tioga Medical Center provider, is from the UND Department of Surgery and is the Director of the Rural Surgery Support Program.
“Stop the Bleed” is a national program that teaches to the public military procedures for stopping bleeding in trauma situations.
