An open house Friday for a new Western Cooperative Credit Union (WCCU) branch inside the Pinnacle travel center in Tioga drew about three dozen people for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a complimentary lunch.
Melanie Stillwell, CEO of the credit union, appeared visibly moved while giving remarks prior to the ribbon-cutting, thanking Pinnacle, WCCU staff and board members, JLG Architects and Shingobee Builders for their teamwork on the project.
“It just makes everything go so smooth,” Stillwell said. “Everybody’s been so great.”
The branch is located in what was formerly Pinnacle’s business center, which closed after the oil boom slowed. WCCU announced its plans to turn the space into a new branch last June.
