Driving down Tioga’s North Welo Street, you’d never know it was home to a second city and a developed rail network.
Hidden from view at the Lovdahl home sits “Dakota City” and its neighboring replica towns of Medora and Fairview. The city has all of the amenities you’d expect: banks, gas stations, railways and even a functioning oil rig and well.
“We’ve ridden and chased trains across the country,” Glenda Lovdahl said. “Wherever there are trains to ride, we ride them.”
“I’ve been interested in this all my life,” Bruce Lovdahl said. “I can’t imagine life without it.”
