There aren’t many businesses open along Madison Street in McGregor these days, but that isn’t stopping the town from drawing in a crowd.
The town held its first annual Harvest Hoedown last Friday, a return to a tradition almost forgotten by local residents.
“It’s been many years since a festival was held here,” said organizer Karen Hawkinson. “We need to get everyone together and have a good time.”
Hawkinson said the planning of the event only started three weeks ago, and in that time more than 15 vendors from Minot to Williston, and a musical act all signed on to help put McGregor back on the map.
