Scrubs Camp, held at Divide County High School on Wednesday last week, gave students an introduction to several different health careers in ways both practical and bizarre.
“Where else do you get to walk around a 250-pound inflatable colon?” said Marianne Wamhoff, director of human resources at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Crosby.
St. Luke’s organized the daylong event for grades 8-10 with help from the University of North Dakota’s Center for Rural Health.
Eighty students participated in hands-on activities related to medical careers in pharmacy, dentistry, therapy, nursing and more.
