Crosby building owner puts county on notice he plans to forfeit it for back taxes

Divide County commissioners are already talking about what to do with the former Tuftedal Chevrolet building, if the county gets it back for unpaid taxes.

If that happens, it won’t be until October. Total taxes owed for the last three years are $1,799.01. 

Owned by Joel Benson of Crosby, the former automobile dealership at the corner of Central Avenue and First Street West was built in 1946. 

County Auditor Gayle Jastrzebski said Benson came to her office and informed her he plans  to forfeit the property.
