Building improvements have been a major emphasis for the Divide County Historical Society in recent years, but a hail storm last season provided even more work for volunteers to get ready for this year’s threshing show, July 14, 15 and 16 at Pioneer Village.
“Everything took a walloping on the west sides,” said volunteer Danny Hansen, referencing the June 9, 2016, storm.
The result, he said is “like a whole ‘nother year of preparation going into just that.”
In addition to having to fix broken windows and refresh paint on more buildings than usual, a new shower house and restroom facility and a new storage building have been added to the grounds this year.
